Her passion for cooking and baking started with home economics classes during her secondary school days. This was fuelled by praises of her family members when they tasted the food she prepared.
Today, Carolyn is the proud owner of her own baking business which she started two years ago, egged on by her friends who have tried her cakes. She usually bakes according to what her friends like best, and among the popular favourites are the lemon cake, cranberry cookies and banana chocolate chip muffins. At a recent Drool Cook Club Tea Party, her Chilli Chocolate cake got many rave reviews.
Behind this successful baker is her hubby who even enjoys the uncooked cookie dough she prepares “because it smells so nice” and would have eaten it raw if she had not stopped him.
When Carolyn bakes, she goes mostly with her instincts and tweaks the recipe for just 2 to 3 times to perfection. Her current challenge is to try out new cakes and designs, including fondant tier cakes with 3D trees and deco.
