Brought up in a traditional Hakka family, I first picked up cooking as a teenager by observing and helping Grandma in the kitchen.

Soon all family meals were prepared by me single-handedly as was expected of the eldest in those days.

Tradition continues. Up to today, I delight in hosting siblings and friends on weekends, pampering them with my specialty cooking perfected through the years.

Since my marriage to a Korean, a wide range of “K-popular dishes” has been added to her repertoire to the delight of friends and family, both immediate and the extended.

Having never attended a single cooking class in my life, I cook by watching and tasting.

I was asked "If you have just one day to live, what is the last dish you would cook yourself? My answer to that would be to cook a last meal for my family.
