Drool was invited to a delectable media tasting dinner at the relatively new Tablescape – a brand new Modern European restaurant and bar located within the Grand Park City Hall at Coleman Street.
A nice cozy ambience with a seating capacity of 60 pax and bar seating for 40 pax. They even have a private dining room that can house 14 pax. The restaurant paid attention to ensure there is privacy between diners as we noticed there were still a lot more space between tables…a rare sight these days. And even though it was a week night, the restaurant was running full house!
We were treated to an interesting take on classic European flavours by Executive Chef, Robert Chan. A few of us had mixed reviews of the various dishes we tasted but we all agreed that the Prosciutto Ham Wrapped Monkfish and the Maine Lobster on Risotto in Armagnac Bisque was a winner!
I personally enjoyed the salmon gravlax with vegetable shavings, lemon myrtle oil and cream cheese ice cream. Sounds a little weird to have essential oils (Lemon Myrtle Oil) added to a dish but I loved all things made with essential oils so it worked for me while some of the other diners thought it was a little overpowering.
The dessert trolley was spectacular and kept our eyes peeled on the multi-tiered offering, and it was quite a difficult choice to pick just one! Luckily we had the option to try an assortment of the different sweets! My favourite was the Raspberry Lychee Almond Cake and the mixed fruit jelly! Didn’t have anymore room to try the brownies, creme brulee, lemon tart, fruit salad…and more!
